Specific Instructional Objectives

1) Read to comprehend at Literal, Interpretative and Application levels.

2) Level 1: Search for correct phrases/sentences to answer questions by clicking at the answers with the mouse.

Learning Environment

Computer Laboratory with 38 multimedia computers

Instructional Strategies
  1. Teacher requests pupils to read and listen to the story of "Pinocchio’s Choice".
  2. Pair Work:

    3. Pupils are to click their mouse at "Read to Me" of the CD-ROM.

    Using the (3 Minute Pause), pupils are to alternate and discuss their likes and dislikes of the passage as the story unfolds page by page.

  3. Individual Work:

    4. Pupils are to click at "Learn And Play" of the CD-ROM and attempt all 10 questions. They need to click at the correct phrase which contains the answers. They are given points for every correct answer. Teacher can monitor pupils’ understanding by looking at the marks they have obtained. Pupils are to note their scores.

  4. Post Activity:

    5. Pupils then complete the "Responding to Fiction" Pets Worksheet on their own.

     

  5. The pupils then go to the Activity part of the CD-ROM and do the following: Go .
