1 . Pupils to be able to tell the amount of money in a set of notes and
coins.
2 . To use the open tool, Microsoft Word , to draw notes and coins.
3 . To make up the required amount of notes and coins using the
least number of notes and coins.

Introduction ( 10 min )
A Powerpoint presentation to review the addition of notes and coins
using different variation in the combination of the notes and coins and emphasize using the least number of notes and coins.
Development ( 40 min ) Navigating Microsoft Word
Pair pupils up into A and B
Switch on the computer
Go to Start
Go to Programs
Select Microsoft Word on the sub menu
Use Drawing Tool Bar to create desired notes and coins with it
Pupils to follow teacher’s instructions to create the required amount
using the least number of notes and coins
Pupils will turn take on the teacher’s cue
Pupils to complete at least 3 sums using the drawing tool
Conclusion ( 10 min )
Pupils to complete an evaluation form and also do a written worksheet
for homework
