- Pupils should be famiiliar with the courseware "The Amazing Dictionary’

- Pupils should be able to identify sounds around them.
- Pupils should be able to classify sounds around them, eg:. Animals, vehicles, musical instruments & etc.

Instructional Strategies
- Pupils to bring objects to school.
- Close their eyes and guess "What makes the sound?’
- Talk about the sounds around them. (Identify and classify them according to loudness, softness, high or low pitch, pleasant or unpleasant sound )
- Next, talk about other sounds around them, eg .vehicles, construction site nearby,
birds chirping, children laughing, talking & etc.
- Introduce pupils to the courseware and pupils to work independently listening to the various sounds on the CD-ROM and classifying them.
Follow-Up Activities
- Ask pupils to make sounds and the class to guess what sound the pupil is making.
- Pupils to imagine the sounds they would hear if they are at a certain place, eg zoo, jungle & bus interchange.
- Optional – Pupils to bring other objects to school the next day for their friends to identify.
