Learning Environment : Computer Lab with 40 PCs and 1 LCD Projector

 

Instructional Strategies :

  1. Trigger Activity :
(a) Pupils brainstorm for words related to acts of crime from the newspaper.

(b) Before going to the Lab, pupils work in groups of six to

classify the words that they have brainstormed into

the types of crimes.

(c) Presentation by group leaders.

(d) Pupils to do Worksheet 1 on Classification of words.

(e) Lab Work - Pupils are to write a short story using Creative Writer

(f) Pupils self-edit their work for punctuation and grammar. (g) Pupils add in relevant graphics.

    1. Pupils to print out their work for peer editing.

 

EXERCISE: Write a short story based on any of the crimes reported in the newspaper.

( Pupils are instructed not to lift the story directly from the newspaper reports.)
