Instructional Strategies

  1. Give out worksheet 1. Pupils to work out the questions individually in Section A.
  2. Using the Think-Pair-Share strategy, pupils check their answers with each other.

    Get some pupils to share their answers.

  3. Teacher to go through the compound words (Novice01) with pupils, eliciting from them the relevant meanings of the compound words, and explaining the more difficult ones (eg snowfall, blueprint) which are not within the experience of the pupils.
  4. Pupils play the two games "Bullfrog Log Game’ and ‘Leap to Complete’
  5. Pupils complete Section B of Worksheet 1
