Teacher to introduce the CD ROM courseware ‘Word Attack’ and the procedures in getting into the "Presentation Activity."

A) Procedures

  1. Click the English icon under KidsDesk
  2. Click green arrow key
  3. Double click the ‘Ultimate’ icon key
  4. Click ‘Word List’ icon before dragging cursor to ‘beginning,’

‘Adjectives,’ ‘Level 2’ and click twice

  1. Bring cursor to menu on ‘The Presentation Activity’ and click twice
  2. Under ‘Selection Option,’ click on icon ‘Study’
  3. A list of words with its definition and sentence context will appear on screen.
  1. Presentation

Step 1 (15 mins)

  1. Pupils to listen to the pronunciation of words and to study the

definition and sentence context of the list of adjectives

example: splendid (adjective)

very beautiful; striking (definition)

Wasn’t that a splendid sunset? (sentence in context)

  1. Then, pupils to press the icon ‘enter’ for the subsequent list of

adjectives.

Step 2 (15 mins)

  1. After completing the list of words, pupils to go to ‘Word List’ and do

the same procedure as in A4 before proceeding to the ‘Selection

Option’ and click the icon on ‘Solve’

  1. Next, pupils to rearrange a given set of letters (e.g. airf) into an

adjective (i.e. fair)

  1. The given definitions and sentences are to provide clues in solving

the words with the given 25 jumble letters.

Step3 (15 mins)

  1. Pupils to rearrange the jumble words to form adjectives based on the given definition
  2. Next, pupils to write out the given sentences shown on the screen in and to complete the blanks with the appropriate adjectives.

example: dIsdnpei (jumble words)

very beautiful; striking (definition)

The Grand Canyon is a splendid sight.

Step 4 (15mins)

Conclusion

Teacher to distribute two worksheets to pupils who will be tasked to underline the adjectives from given sentences for Worksheet 1. For

Worksheet 2, pupils to replace underlined words by a suitable adjective.
