Pre-requisites: Pupils need to be able to

    1. define what a change is
    2. identify natural changes

Specific Instructional Objectives :

Pupils will be able to

  1. be aware that changes are taking places all around them all the time
  2. know that earth rotation's on its axis causes day and night.
  3. name at least 2 animals and 2 plants that respond to changes from day-time to night-time in different ways.

  1. Introduction - Tuning-In
  • To ask pupils to recall what it means by a change

· To ask pupils to list out 2 changes that take a long time and 2 changes that take a short time, and 2 each that are under man-made and natural.

· Lead pupils to realise that in most cases natural changes takes a longer time to occur compared to man-made.

  1. Development
  • To explain to pupils the procedures involved in completing the exercise
  • To distribute the CD-Roms and worksheet sheets.

Procedure :-

  1. Insert the CD-Rom and install the software.
  2. On the main menu, double click the section on Changes Around Us.
  3. Pupils are to explore only this section and fill up the concept map.
  4. At the end of sub-section The Changing Environment, pupils are to listen to the concept summary before proceeding to the next sub-section Effects of Day and Night.
  5. Pupils are to view the Topic Summary and lastly the sub-section on Activity and Quest.

Optional

vi) For girls who finished before time, they are allowed to explore the sub-section-section on The Weather Changes as this will be covered in Chapter 3 of Social Studies

 

 

 

All leaders to collect and distribute the CD-Roms and worksheet sheets.

 

 

 

To go through sub-section The Changing Environment and Effects of Day and Night independently and search for the information required for filling up the concept map before they proceed to the Topic Summary

· If time permits, go through the answers, else, this can be done during the next lesson.

 

 

 

· Leaders are to collect all CD-Roms and confirm that the discs are present in the case before they close and collect the case.

· Arrange the case in an ascending order.

 

 

 

  • Ensure that none of the CD-Roms remain in D drive.
