| Sao Lim Kun (Shao-lin quan in Mandarin) is a style from which many other styles of Chinese martial arts derived. The branch of the mentionned style that will be described is the one practiced by ONG Ming Thong, namely the Second Chamber of Southern Sao Lim Hood Kar Pai. The most famous grand master in the world from this school is Master P'NG Chye Khim. Master P'NG started his training in the style in Penang, Malaysia, under the guidance of The Late Master Sik Ko Sum (or Sek Koe Chum). The Late Master Sik Ko Sum is a disciple of Rev. Hui Jing, a Southern Sao Lim monk who represented the 48th generation of the style. The Late Master Sik Ko Sum left China for Medan in Indonesia, then he went to Singapore and later to Penang in Malaysia. He had many disciples in Singapore and Penang. From these disciples, the style expands its wing to other parts of the world. Today the style can be found in many countries such as France, Switzerland, Belgium, New Zealand, Australia, Canada just to name a few. ONG Ming Thong has been trained in the style under the guidance of Master P'NG Chye Khim. |

| The style consists of several sections as mentionned below: Basic exercises Kun To (Tao Lu in Mandarin; sets or forms) Nge Kang (hardening exercises) Lai Kang / Ki Kang (internal practice, energetic exercIses) Bu Teik (spiritual training) Yiong Huat (applications) It is important to state that the practice can be litterally separated into several sections, but in practice, it is impossible to trace the boundary among these sections clearly for all of the sections are interdependent.
