The reason we celebrate Christmas is because Jesus Christ was born. Jesus did not come to condemn the world but to seek and save that which was lost. Though we were sinners, Christ died for us so that we can have a free ticket to Heaven. Christ is being extremely patient not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
