The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit. A broken and repentant heart, O God, you will not despise. -Psalm 51:17

My hands have made both heaven and earth, and they are mine. I, the LORD, have spoken! "I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at my word. But those who choose their own ways, delighting in their sins, are cursed. Their offerings will not be accepted. -Isaiah 66 :2-3

For this is what the high and lofty One says- he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite." -Isaiah 57:15

"God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble." -1 Peter 5:5
