| Well-Known Evangelist Commits Suicide A traveling evangelist from a popular evangelistic association was found dead, after he hanged himself. The respected preacher, who was responsible for the organization's financial accounts, was overcome with remorse after a personal financial deal turned sour. Following his death, it was revealed by his superior that he had been stealing from the company's assets. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fat Man Found Murdered on Bathroom Floor The men who discovered the lifeless body of a man of the floor of his bathroom, found the harrowing sight of a large blade still in his huge stomach. The sword-like weapon pierced the obese man's abdomen to a point where the handle had been completely enveloped by layers of fat. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man Cuts Up Raped Wife A husband, outraged by the mass raping and murder of his wife, cut her body in pieces, and sent portions of the corpse to different parts of the county. When questioned as to why he had done this grisly deed, he said that he wanted to gain public attention, so that the offenders would be brought to justice. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Actually, these brutal incidents happened a long time ago. They are recorded in perhaps the most violent book ever written-the Bible. These are only a few of the brutalities and atrocities of many, which are contained in the "Good Book" (as it is often called). It records stories of people being burned alive, children being torn from the womb, mass killings, eyes being plucked from their sockets, parents eating their children, heads being chopped off, hangings, stonings, rape, incest, adultery, lust, prostitution, bodies being eaten by worms, "men of God" running around drunk and naked among other extremely distasteful things. No, the Bible doesn't hide human atrocities, our lust, hatred, and love of violence . . . it exposes our sins and warns that God will bring every work into judgment. He will punish murderers, rapists, thieves, and liars. How will you fare on Judgment Day; when all sin and shame shall be punished? Have you ever told a lie, a half-truth, or even a "white" lie or an exaggeration? Be honest; of course you have. Have you ever taken something that belonged to someone else-a pen, a library book, or a paper clip (irrespective of how long ago it happened)? |
Ever lusted after another person? Have you ever desired something that belonged to someone else? Ever hated someone? Odds are you've broken a least three of those five Commandments of God's Law -- who hasn't? When you stand before the Judge on Judgment Day, you will be found to be a lying, thieving, adulterer-at-heart. God considers lust to be adultery. He isn't interested in the value of the thing you have stolen, or the color of the lie you have told; He sees you as either guilty or innocent. If you have a pure heart, you have nothing to worry about, but if you are anything like the rest of us, you will know that you are guilty, and we haven't even looked to see if you have honored your parents, kept the Sabbath holy, blasphemed God's name, made a god in your own image, or loved the One who gave you life with "all your heart, mind, soul, and strength." It's true, you are not exactly perfect, and if you stay in that state, on Judgment Day, you will be found to be for what you are - as guilty as sin. Sadly, you will end up in Hell for eternity . . . but justice will be done. Listen to your God-given conscience accuse you of guilt. Then say to your God, "I have sinned against Your Law, I have no excuse whatsoever . . . God forgive me!" Our Creator, in His great love, made provision to give mercy to all who are honest enough to confess and forsake their sins. Guilty though we are, He became flesh in Jesus Christ and satisfied the demands of that holy Law to release from the power of its death sentence. He was bruised for our transgressions, His precious blood was shed that we might live. He took the punishment for the sins of the human race upon His own body-"God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." If you repent and put your faith in Jesus, God will forgive you completely. On Judgment Day, you will be completely dismissed though lack of evidence! Think of it - you are offered a pardon from the Governor of the Universe-what a fool you would be to neglect it! Accept the pardon through faith, then read the Bible daily, obey what you read, and you will never fail. By the way, the evangelist who committed suicide was Judas Iscariot, the innocent man executed was Jesus Christ Himself. All other incidents on this tract can be found in the Book of Kings and the Book of Judges. Write to us helpful literature and a brochure of our other publications. Natural Enquiry News, P.O.
