Abused
Long ago people were brought to America in shackles and chains,
They were abused and refused to educate their brians.
From their homeland they were stolen away,
And told they must do what their massa's say.

They were carried ontheir sides here in cargo ships,
Fed little, seen little light, and beaten with whips.
Packed so tight they could hear each other breathe,
When one would die, they would all grieve.

They were forced to be servants and work as field hands,
In houses they cooked and in fields tilled the lands.
If they tried to run away they were punished with pain,
They broke their leg or cut off a limb so they had nothing to gain.

Finally they made a law that set them free,
Now chained they would never again have to be.
They were now allowed to live where they wantedd,
Their lives where never again taunted.
