Here are examples of religious experiences: Yoga, Christna, and the like. (some are okay and good with in themselves and some are no sin.)
Here are two examples of people who have claimed religious experiences but without the Holy Ghost:
1) One who says he had a religious experience has been accused of molesting boys.
2) Another was on an "R" rated video with a minor. He has claimed to have had a religious experience.
(Now let us learn what a ghost is. According to Webster New College Dictionary, a ghost is, "The spirit of a deceased person...The animus: soul." Let us learn what holy is: "Holy: Belonging to, derived from, or associated with a devine power. Therefore: combining both words makes this Holy Ghost: "the third Person of the Christian Trinity, the Holy Spirit.")
When combining holy and ghost we have something beyond just a religious experience when one allow the Holy Ghost to be the ruler of one's soul. This occurs with the infilling of the Holy Ghost; therefore, the filling of the Holy ghost will take a person beyond the religious experience. One will speak with a new tongue--a new language. This new language will include walk, talk, and over all behavior. (No matter your nationality).
Some religious experiended people are church hoppers. Church hoppers will hop from an AME Church, to a Pentecostal Church, to a Baptist church, etc, and then he/she will cross the tracks to the Assembly of God. Read I corinthians 3:1-4.
Some have a religious form of godliness but deny real power--II Timothy 2:1-5.
One cannot live any kind of way: and one, expect God to intervene on his/her behalf on a consistent basis; and two, be filled with the Holy Ghost. (I Samuel 4).
However, as people of God, we must desire the sincere milk of God's Word (I Peter 2:2) in order to be filled with God's Holy Spirit (Acts4:31). The Holy Ghost means more than just expressing an enotional response. We must walk the Highway of Holiness (Isaiah 35:7).
