| A Message of LOVE by Pastor Timothy K. Robinson Sr. Many People in the Western World know what St. John 3:16 says, but do we understand what this particular scripture and the following verses, 17, mean. In order to understand these two scripture passages, it will take more than one small message on this Internet site to do so. Therefore, this message will only give you a brief idea and interpretation of St John 3:16&17. Open up the word of God to the New Testament book of St. John 3:16&17, in whatever version of the Bible you have. I will be quoting from the King James Version. (Remember St. John is a different book than I John.) Read both verses. "For God so Loved the World..." is perhaps an acceptable idea that everyone believes, for we all accept that God loves mankind. But, "...So Loved..." is an emphasis that demonstrates God's love that is beyond human comprehending and acceptance of love. It is more love thah a human can experience from our limited ability to love. "...and He gave His only begotten Son." is something that is more than the average mother or father would do. For a sinner like me, would a God of love Give? This is a love beyond human comprehension, ability and understanding, but not for God. "..that whosoever believeth in him should not perish," is a simple but continual request for the world and each individual to do; therefore, believing He is God and what His son has done, and what He can do for you is a necessity to keep you from perishing eternally. "...but have everlasting life" because only the maker of the Universe can grant you eternal life by His Son, Jesus Christ who was given for the world. Verse 17 continues with, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;" because the sins of the world was condemnation enough for the world. Therefore, this message is not a message to degrade anyone in sin, but an offering for a way out of condemnation and degredation that sin brings. "...but that the world through Him (Jesus Christ) might be saved" from eternal damnation. Isn't wonderful that I do not have to be condemned in sin? Is it not that the love of God can come and save me? Why, because I am included in God's love of the world and His desire for me not to fall into condemnation. Pray this with me: Dear God and neavenly Father, I have sinned and fallen short into condemnation. I am glad that you have sent your Son for me, and because He was sent for me I want your Son to come into my life, forever. Please forgive me for sinning and falling into condemnation. Cleanse my heart from al sins and iniquity in order that your Son may come into my heart. Jesus, please come into my heart. Thank-you heavenly Father, for in Jesus Christ's name I pray, Amen. |
