Revealed Secrets
Ephesians 3:1-13

Today we are going to look at the secret plan of God and see why its no secret anymore. I have personally been richly blessed as I bring these studies to you. I learn as much as you do, maybe more.

In the first five verses of Chapter 3 Paul gives the detail of his calling to the Gentile Nations. He specifically relates to the Ephesians, who have a Greek background as well as a history of worship to the Greek Gods. To the Ephesians, Jesus was just one more God. They had to be schooled in what the Lord had in mind for them. Paul sees his ministry to the gentiles as something special given to him by God. He was originally, so he believed, called to minister to the Jews. They, however, rejected his word.

In verses 6-7 Paul reveals the secret. The Gentile Peoples have an equal share with the Jews in sharing the inheritance of the Lord. I know that this just made the Jews about as angry as angry can be. How dare God allow the unclean mix with the clean! Have you ever felt that way? I have, until I understood that God is a God of all people. When we real through the Prophetic Books of the Bible, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, etc. we see that that always was the Lords plan. Yet, we insist on excluding people, because they dont fit the model we have set up in our hearts and minds. Some examples of that are the homeless, alcoholics, drug addicts, and prostitutes. And to some measure we exclude those of different races and colors. If we really are one body as the Bible says we are, then why not get along. Look in the letters of Peter and Corinthians to see what God has to say. Use some Study Aids to find the answers.

In verses 10-13 Paul shows us why God chose to reveal the secret. The purpose is to show his wisdom in its rich and awesome variety. This, specifically to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.

Paul continues and reminds us that because of our faith in Christ, we can fearlessly come before the throne of God.

Think about these things and how they relate to you.
