Creating an Atmosphere
{bringing the anointing
into the house}
Today I want to share something that has been on my heart for some time. Creating an atmosphere in the home. have noticed that most Christians have the wrong atmosphere in their homes. Most usually out of ignorance. So, I want to help you understand how to create the right atmosphere.
There are some examples in the bible about created atmosphere and I will use them to help you understand how to create your own. The atmosphere (tone) you set in your home is the platform from which the Lord will work for you. We either have a negative one (fighting, bickering, indifference, selfishness) or a positive one (love, caring, hope, and worship.)
The way Ive learned to create a lasting atmosphere is to cultivate the practice of praise and worship in the house.
I do this through singing acapella , praise and worship music on CDs, or videos, meditation on the word of god, or what the lord has done for me, and the goodness of god. These things are not confined to Sunday church or midweek services. Neither are they done at the command of the pastor, though he may suggest it at the same time I happen to be doing them. They are an everyday occurrence, not out of duty, but desire, and love for the lord.
When the atmosphere is right it is a conductor for prayer, praise, worship, and ministry. People who come to visit pick up on the atmosphere right away. It, eventually becomes the sustaining thing even when you are watching t.v., listening to the radio, or some other non Christian thing.
One scripture I think of when it comes to atmosphere is when David is summoned to be King Sauls court to minister in song to him. (1samuel 16:14-23)
In this passage we see that Saul had lost favor with Jehovah and was rejected by him to continue as king of Israel. God sent a spirit to torment Saul. As long as David played for Saul, the tormenting spirit left him alone. David was an accomplished musician and songwriter, as can be seen when we read the book of Psalms. There is a lot to be learned about David when we read the Psalms.
While there is no direct evidence that David set an atmosphere in Israel, I believe that through his music he did. We also see the favor of god upon his life, throughout his lifetime (even when he was into big time sin.)
Atmosphere is also the conductor for the anointing. The more of the Holy Spirits presence that is in (and on) us, the stronger the anointing is. The Greek word Christ translates into the English word anointing or anointed one. Jesus is the anointed one. Jesus, by his spirit, lives in me. Therefore, I too, am anointed.
There is more than can be said, but I feel that I should hold off for now. Study what I have given you and put it into practice. At another time I will add more to this.
