Snowflake
A snowflake fell upon your lower lash
And so resembled a tear
After it had melted,
I felt sure something was wrong.
The features of your face
Suddenly seemed saddened
And were confirmed by the tear.
I wouldn't have noticed
That anything was amiss
Without the help of that single snowflake.
Perhaps I don't look deep enough
At important things,
Unless something illuminates them,
Shining a light
Into the darkness of my thoughts
Awakening my selfish soul.
