Candle Magick

The warm glow of a candle can bring magick into the environment where it is lit, especially when placed on an altar or used as one of the elements during spell construction or private meditation. The candle's color is an integral part of the magick, and though there are many variations of candle colors and their meanings, this list is generally accepted and based upon the Chakra centers. However, you should use your own intuitive sense as to what color works best.

White

This is a balance of all colors and represents purity, spirituality, sincerity, wholeness, innocence, sacredness, meditation, cleansing and truth. White may be substituted for any other candle color.

Black

Black candles are strong magick and should only be used for reversing negative spells or energy and binding negative forces. Remember, what you put out, will be returned to you. Black can also be used for protection and releasing.

Yellow

Intellect, imagination, creativity, confidence, concentration, inspiration, communication, legalities.

Blue

Truth, inspiration, wisdom, understanding, tranquility, peace, harmony, protection, fidelity, patience, healing.

Green

Wealth, fertility, prosperity, abundance, success, money, renewal, balance, luck, good fortune.

Pink

Love, affection, romance, self-esteem, togetherness, perfection, healing of the spirit, good will, nurturing.

Purple

Power, equilibrium, healing, wisdom, inspiration, protection, self assurance, psychic ability.

Red

Health, energy, strength, passion, sexuality, fertility, courage, willpower, conquering fears.

Orange

Ambition, business and career goals, success, justice, encouragement, vitality, control.

Gold

Fortune, intuition, understanding, happiness.
