1998 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6E
With the heavy emphasis placed on the 600cc sportbike class, it is no wonder that Kawasaki serves up two different offerings.  While the ZX-6R brings track-level performance to the street, the Ninja ZX-6 offers just the right balance of performance, price and civilized manners.

The ZX-6 does share some of the traits with its competition-based ZX-6R brother.  A compact four-cylinder engine has four valves per cylinder with narrow stems to reduce port blockage, especially in the straight-shot intake design that produces a free-flowing fuel mixture to the combustion chamber for quick throttle response.  The Twin Ram Air Induction system provides cool, pressurized air for better intake efficiency and more power.

Like the ZX-6R, the ZX-6 also has a lightweight aluminum perimeter frame.  Made from welded aluminum sheet, each section is made to precise thickness to save weight wile maintaining maximum rigidity.  There's also a lightweight extruded aluminum swingarm connected to a single shock via Kawasaki's UNI-TRAK linkage suspension system.  Front suspension is handled by beefy 41mm hydraulic forks with adjustable forks with adjustable preload and rebound damping.

Dual floating front disc brakes with opposed four-piston calipers, combined with a 240mm rear disc, provide exceptional stopping power.  Wide low-profile tires provide sure footing.

An aerodynamic fairing gives the ZX-6 its own unique appearance and it does a great job protecting the rider from the elements.  Plus, the seating position is comfortable and offers excellent ergonomics and comfort for heading into town or taking an extended ride into the country.

With just the right balance between economy, a more ergonomically designed riding position, and all-out race technology, the ZX-6 is sure to hit the mark with many middleweight sportbike buyers.

Special Features:
Compact 599cc liquid-cooled four-cylinder engine with dual overhead cams and four valves per cylinder.

Four semi-downdraft CVKD carburetors optimize the fuel/air ratio provided by the highly acclaimed Twin Ram Air intake and electric fuel pump systems.

At the front, a 41mm fork provides precise cornering & it has preload adjustment & four-way rebound damping so riders can fine-tune their ride.

Out back a UNI-TRAK linkage suspension system produces progressively higher damping and spring rates the further the suspension is compressed for a more controlled ride.

Dual 30mm floating front disc brakes with opposed four-piston calipers & a 240mm rear disc provide excellent stopping power.

You get all-day comfort & convenience with the aerodynamic design of the fairing & windscreen, a glovebox, & full complement of instrumentation that includes fuel & temperature gauges & a digital clock.
