Bad Staffelstein, Saturday 25.03.2006 - Sunday 26.03.2006
Together with my gf I visited a friend of my gf who celebrated her
birthday in Bad Staffelstein. To get to Bad Staffelstein a car was
rented (Opel Astra CDTI) which just offers a little bit more
flexibility as that the German railway does. Also the possibility of
visiting the outlet "Wertheim village" was given in this way.
Bad Staffelstein itself can be found in Bayern...but to those living in Bad Staffelstein the place actually belongs to Franken. (Which is a part of Bayern)
The great thing about going to Bad Staffelstein is that the village also houses a large thermae, officially named the "Obermain Therme". The thermae also houses a large sauna area (5000m²).
Unnessecary to say that we did not use this opportunity to give the "Obermain Therme" a vistit. Personally for me it also was the first time in a German sauna - and definately not the last one:-).
As Bad Staffelstein does not have the word "Bad" in front of it's name very long, the to the village belonging spa gardens are having a very modern look. As the whole garden and the surrounding area is very new the park is not that attractive currently, but this will certainly change in time.
