About Me
Let me introduce myself first, I'm Marcel Jansen. Born and raised in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. In August 2000 I emigrated to Frankfurt/Main, Germany, where I now work as a system engineer at the technical infrastructure department of a European telecommunication company.
As already described at the main page, the main purpose for this website is to keep family and friends updated about anything what I like to inform them about. As I like to travel around the world (to places where avoiding tourists is possible are preferred), the major topic here are my travel diaries which I try to keep as updated as possible. Unfortunately this is a time-consuming activity and some of the older and newest voyages are oustanding.
Apart from keeping this website up to date I also use my spare time
to do some sporting. I am an enthusiastic ballroom & latin dancer
and since a year or two salsa dancing also belongs to this acitvity.
During the warmer months of the year (april - september) I join the
Frankfurt Thuesday Night Skating which is held weekly on (you guess it)
Thuesday evening. The TNS is a free weekly groupskate with up to 50000
participants during the summer months and lasts for 35-45 kilometers.
Futher I like any sport activities like running, snowboarding, ice-skating, etc.
From a cultural point of view, visiting theater shows and museums
are something I do regulary. Around Frankfurt/Main some quite
interesting theaters and museums can be found. Definitely one of my
favourite museums in Frankfurt/Main is the Modern Art Museum and always
is worth a visit when you are around.
The "Neues Theater Hoechst" is a small theater which provides a lot of good cabaret, musik and comedy shows
