Since the early days of cattle rustling, there have been many improvements to the treatment of the Bovine species, but this small group, the Stunt Cows, has constantly been over looked by Animal and Human Rights Activists. These exceptional physical specimens are still being treated like animals. Legislation is now in the House to try and extend the humane treatment to these Bovines, but until then, you can help by celebrating National Stunt Cow Appreciation Day on November 1st.
Although it has reached only National Status, it is being celebrated in many different countries around the world with different traditions. In India, a great parade is held, and people lay down palm branches for the cows to walk on to show respect. In Germany, a festival is held in their honor where everyone gets tanked up on beer and take turns letting the cows play 'tip the person'. Here in America, we celebrate by eating a hamburger. We also tend to watch some of the films that stunt cows have been know to perform in, one of the best known is "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" where a daring stunt cow is shot over a castle wall all the filthy english k-nig-its. The part of the cow in the movie 'Tornado' was actually played by three seperate cows who actually had to jump into a real live tornado in order to get the perfect shot. Sadly, all three cows were later pronounced dead over a cast barbeque.
