Grandpa And Me
You were a kind and loving man who had a warm smile
I remember how I would stay and visit with you for awhile
You drove a white truck with a long leather seat
These are some of the memories, of Grandpa and me
You were always happy to see me, the joy was in your eyes
It was so hard to leave you behind with "good-bye"
You would give me a hug and a kiss on the cheek
These are some of the memories, of Grandpa and me
At the family reunions we would all walk down to see the water
We would all have lots of fun with you and our grandmother
We shared Thanksgivings and I remembered your silver Christmas tree
These are some of the memories, of Grandpa and me
I remember us doing puzzles from pieces to crossword
You would draw little sketches that I always thought were so good
We would sit down together and watch shows on the tv
These are some of the memories, of Grandpa and me
Before you were called home, God set your soul free
The gift of salvation and a life of eternity
The bible beside you and your loving family
These are some of the memories of Grandpa and me
The day God came for you, I was in bed fast asleep
When the news came to me, I couldn't think or weep
It was so hard to leave you behind with "good-bye" you see
When it finally hit me, all I thought about was Grandpa and me
I'm all grown up now and one day I will see you again
We will both walk the streets of gold that has no end
You were a wonderful person, who's on my heart and will always be
A heart full of memories, of Grandpa and me
