Racism

Racism has been on my mind a lot lately. I cannot understand the concept of hating someone based on the shade of their skin. I say shade because I did a painting of two faces, one "black" and one "white" I mixed the paint for the "black" skin tone first and then added white paint to some of it for the "white" skin tone. Therefore, both faces are the same color, just a different shade of that color.

I know there are different skin colors, but only in the amount of pinks, yellows, or olives, in the skin. Otherwise it is the shade of the skin the racist have trouble with.

How does the shade of someones skin affect the kind of person they are? I have met people that were "black", "white", and every shade between that were rude and crude. The type of people you knew you could not trust with anything. Just as I have met people in those same skin tones that are honest and trustworthy.

So if you are racist then so be it, but do not try to convince me of the validity of your beliefs. I have dated men of various skin shades and I have friends just as diverse. I am proud of who I am and thrive on the diversity of life. For I believe the more someone is different than me the more we can learn from eachother.
