| **Faith** Hope and I are finally talking again. I forgave her because I know it wasn't really her fault. How was she supposed to know that AJ and I used to be dating? And we both forgave each other for what we said to each other during our fight. We both know that we got caught in the heat of the moment and said things that we truly didn't mean. Hope said that she was still amazed that I actually cursed. I was, too. I've never cursed once. Not in my while life. Anyway, Hope's living with her friend, Koriana now. She said she doesn't know if she's coming back. I don't think she will. Not for a while at least. "Do you want to do something today?" She asked me as we talked on the phone one morning. "Sure," I answered her as I moved from the kitchen to the living room couch, "What did you have in mind?" "I don't know. We could go grab a bite to eat for lunch." Hope suggested. "Okay, that sounds good. Do you want me to pick you up?" I asked her. "How about we just meet at the mall? They have a new Chinese restaurant there. Kori was telling me all about it. It sounds tite." Hope told me. I rolled my eyes at Hope's hip hop lingo. I never understood it...Call me old fashioned. "That sounds great. Let's meet at about one." I suggested. "One sounds perfect. I'll see you then," She said, "I've got to go. Kori's got to use the phone." "Okay, bye." "Bye." I put the phone down next to me on the couch and picked up the remote control. I watched a few minutes of TV until the doorbell rang. I stood up and walked to the door. I wasn't expecting anyone. When I opened the door who else but AJ McLean was standing on the other side. I began to close the door, but AJ held it open. "Faithy," He said, "Open the door. Please." I opened the door again and looked at him. "Okay," He said, "Just let me talk. I want you-no, I need you to forgive me. I want things to be good between us again. I want you to come back into my life. You don't have to go out with me or anything...but I just want us to be on good terms." He looked and sounded sincere, but I couldn't put it past him to actually be. He was a good actor. I learned that the hard way: by having an act be played out in front of me. "Why do you want me so bad when you know that you can obviously have anyone that you want?" I asked him. "Faith, I've never met anyone like you...You're perfect, You're beautiful, you're smart...You're everything that a man could ask for and more." He looked down at his feet for a moment, and then looked back up, into my eyes. "The problem with me is that I didn't figure this all out until it was too late...Until after I hurt you. I didn't realize how lucky I was to have you for that short time until none other than Nick pointed it out to me." "AJ, I-" I began, but AJ interrupted me. He held up his hands. "Before you say anything, let me finish. Now I don't expect you to forgive me...I really don't. But I hope that you can find it in you to...Anyway, the last thing I want to tell you is that I have never met someone and fallen in love with them so quickly...And I'm sorry. So sorry for everything." "AJ, I..." He looked down at the floor again. "Look at me, please." I told him. He slowly looked up and I smiled at him. "I forgive you." He smiled happily at me. "You do?" He asked. I nodded. "I do." He laughed and pulled me to him. "I love you..." He whispered to me. "I love you, too." I whispered back. I pulled him into the house. "You want to do something?" He asked me. "Well, I kind of had plans with Hope..." I answered him. "Oh, so things are better between the two of you?" He questioned. "Yup." He nodded. "That's good..." "I'll call her and tell her that something else came up..." I suggested. "And what are you going to tell her when she asks what exactly came up?" He asked. "The truth." "Really?" "She won't mind...She just wants me to be happy." "Well, if that's what she really wants..." "It is." |
