Website Services -->Setting Up A Website |
||
|
Many people think that setting up and launching a website is as easy as click and drag. Well, it's not. Not only is there research before the design, layout, content, and graphics, but there are also browser variances, monitor variances, plus other potential problems. After the website is launched, you have to figure out how to set up your site for the best search engine ranking, advertising, and maintaining your website. It is very difficult for a business to effectively execute these stages.
Preparation: The first step is the initial research. You should browse the internet, using several major search engines, searching for businesses that offer services similar to yours. This will give you some ideas of what you want and don't want. Not only will you get ideas for content, but you will get ideas for layout and graphics. Many businesses are too busy for this, so we can do the research for you. Because we view the website as just another website, and not the competition, we will be able to concentrate on the design of the site, not on the services offered by the company.
Design: This stage is accomplished by us. We gather all the information we suggest, including any graphics, and begin the design. Once the site is finished, it becomes just like another branch of your business. It may be a customer service branch, store, catalog, or virtually anything you want. Once this is done, we become your Website Manager, and keep your site up to date, and make any changes as needed.
Search Engines: During the design of your site we keep in mind how search engines will see your site. Many of our sites are high on the first page of search engines. If you feel that your site needs to have a higher ranking, we can submit your site to search engines for you. It is recommended that websites be resubmitted at least every 4 months.
Advertising: Surely you have heard that most small businesses never make it past 3 years of operation. Well, websites are no different. For example, if you have a site that your only advertisement is a small sign in your entry, you will be lucky to break 50 hits a month. On the other hand, if you advertise your site on large outdoor signs, stationery, in newspaper advertisements, and word of mouth, you will easily break 5,000 hits a month, possibly even 10,000. If you want to generate revenue from your website, consider having banner advertisements from other local businesses placed on your website, or placing Google AdSense on your website. Use your website to run surveys, have contests, and possibly give discounts. The site should be updated at least once a month, so the site is never the same two months in a row. |
