From Miyazaki City/ North/ West:
Easy directions.
Go down the 220 south from Miyazaki. After the estuary veer left towards Aoshima (avoiding the Nichinan bypass) on the path closer to the sea. Follow the signs to Zeal to turn at the next right. Continue to veer right on the roads all the way EXCEPT when reaching the small T-intersection after the 2 small bridges. At the T-intersection turn left. You will see it in front of you up on the hill. Take your next right and follow the signs up towards Zeal.
Zeal is exactly 2 km from the first turn off the highway, route 220.
Better directions.
Head south out of Miyazaki on the 220 towards Aoshima.
Just after the estuary (where the river meets the sea) bridge, the road splits into 2. Take the one on the sea side. Straight after, you'll see a big sign that says "Zeal". Turn right here, and you should be on a small road that immediately runs over some train tracks. If you're an odometer kind of person, start your odometer here. (If you get to Kodomo no Kuni on the 220, you've gone too far.)
Continue along this road for 0.5 of a km till you come to a 2 or 3 way intersection. Take the road most right that heads under a bridge that you will be able to see.
Go straight. At 0.8 km, you'll come to a fork. There are a bunch of signs here - for Sion and Zeal. Take the right path.
Take this well chosen path and you will soon go over 2 small bridges. At 1.5 km you'll hit a T-intersection. Turn left here, not right into the valley.
You will see two rice fields on your right separated by a small road. Don't take this road. Take the next one. There is a Zeal sign there.
Follow this road back and around and then turn left up the steep paved road hill. Follow the signs. Don't follow the sign that says "Green View". That's not where you're path is supposed to go.
There is a car park for Zeal on you right and the place is further up the hill also on your right. It is exactly 2 km from the train tracks.
Parking is tight, so we advise arranging carpools.
