| This is the view of the back side of Mt Welch from Mt Dickey. . My reaction was,"We climbed straight DOWN that path?" (I overheard alot of the first time hikers asking that same question) The second most popular question was ,"Are we almost there?" In reference to the summits and to the parking lot at the trailhead. This was answered by my guide in the now infamous words..."fifteen minutes more..." |

| After reaching the summit of Mt Welch, we hiked on until we came to a point where we could take a picture of the back trail of the mountain. . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is a view from the next viewpoint on Mt Dickey. The valley was the loveliest part of the hike and we spent several minutes there just enjoying the scenery. This is a scene I will never forget. |

| There was color everywhere you looked. We estimated that there were probably 200 or more hikers on the trail that day. It never got too crowded though and we had plenty of space to enjoy it all. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The views on this hike were indescribable. The fantastic scenery was worth the effort of the hike up Mt Dickey and Mt Welch. This was an experience I will never forget. The trail is opened year round but during the winter some of the rocky areas can become very slippery and hazardous. This would not be a good first time hike for a novice during that time. But for me that day it was an incredible experience. |
