| Demographics: Atlantic Shores Christian School is a ministry of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church. In the fall of 1985, ASCS opened its doors with 68 students in grades K4 through third. The fourth through the sixth grades were added in 1986 and seventh through twelfth grades in 1987. Currently the school serves as an education institution for over 825 students in preschool through the twelfth grade. The middle and upper school campus is located in the city of Chesapeake, which is part of the Tidewater Hampton Roads community, in a growing area of diverse neighborhoods ranging from the very urban to the very rural. Hampton Roads consists of five interconnected cities with a population of more than 1 million. Chesapeake itself has a total population of more than 204,000. |

| Grading System: Atlantic Shores operates on a two semester system, with two grading periods each semster. Grades are A: 93-100, B: 85-92, C: 77-84, D: 70-76, and F: 69 and below. Grades for Honors classes are multiplied by 1.05 and grades for advanced placement classes are multiplied by 1.075. |
