What is (RED)™?

  • (RED)™ is a brand created to raise awareness and money for The Global Fund by teaming up with the world’s most iconic brands to produce (PRODUCT)RED branded products. A portion of profits from each (PRODUCT)RED product sold will go directly to the Global Fund to invest in African AIDS programmes, with a focus on women and children (more information below).

What is the INSPI(RED) night at the Aloha Stadium?

  • Support for (RED)™ on the day of the U2 concert in Honolulu, Hawaii, on December 9; the last show of their Vertigo Tour.
  • Spreading the word about (RED)™ to help the poorest people on this planet to get what they need to simply survive.
  • Show our appreciation to Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry for the inspiration they are.

Not too long ago, Bono and Bobby Shriver, Chairman of DATA, launched a new initiative to help those people who are dying from a treatable disease like AIDS, just because they don't have the money to buy the medicine.

This initiative, (RED)™, takes advantage of the enormous power that consumers in wealthy countries have. The idea is simple, if you buy a (RED)™ product a part of the money will go directly to the poorest people on this planet; to provide them with the medicine to keep them alive. Your choice can make a difference, and one by one we can make a tremendous change in this world.

U2 inspires

U2 have been an inspiration to us as well as to so many in the past few decades, both with their music and their involvement in many great causes. From LiveAid to Live8, from Jubilee 2000 to DATA and the ONE campaign, not to forget Amnesty International and Greenpeace, U2 has always INSPI(RED) us in following the journey of equality.

As Bono said at Live8 in London: "We can't fix every problem, but the ones we can, we must..."

What should I do at the concert?
  • Bring something red to the concert.
  • Wear a red shirt, hat, cap, scarf, flag, bag; anything that is red will help to spread the word about (RED)™.
  • Let us know in our guestbook that you will wear/bring something red to the concert in Honolulu, Hawaii :-)

  • Let all U2 fans know about this initiative!! We need all of you to make this work. Running To Keep A Child Alive: The day after the INSPI(RED) night a U2 fan will run his first marathon (Honolulu, Hawaii) and is now seeking sponsorship to support "Keep A Child Alive", an organization which helps providing anti-retroviral treatment for kids in Africa.
