The Narrow Gate
A Collection of Writings

"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."--Matthew 7:13,14 (NKJV)

"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers."--John 10:1-5 (NKJV)

"Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."--John 10:7-10 (NKJV)

Welcome to The Narrow Gate. As Jesus tells us, there are two different gates in this life. Each of us will pass through one or the other. One is wide and broad, indicating how easy it is to enter it, and there are many who go in by it, but that gate leads to destruction. The other is narrow and difficult, and there are few who find it. That gate leads to life.
If someone were to ask you which gate you would be entering one day, how would you answer? If you are like most people, you are too concerned with the things of this life to really give it much thought. On the surface you might say it would be the one entering into life, but can you be certain?
There are many today who have chosen this path or that path, thinking that it leads to life, but Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6 NKJV). If you are searching for life, not just in this world, but in the world to come, there is only one way that you can achieve that, and that is through the person of Jesus Christ.
To attempt to gain access to life by any other means results only in failure. Those who try to do so are only robbers and thieves, and as Jesus pointed out, the thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
For some this may not seem to be very important, but one day it will become the most important issue in a person's life. If you have never given thought to this before, there is no better time than the present to do so. I hope the things I present here will be of help to you in your search for the gate that leads to life. Lord bless.
