| Hi, my name is Kevin Addison I live with my partner Joanne and my son James Addison. I have been in the trade since I was 12 years old, yes just 12, little me working my socks off. I started work on weekends for the man across the rd his name's Mick Barronoski, a well known family of builders in and around Harrogate. I started sweeping up and then went onto mix plaster for two fully skilled plasterer's. I would mix bath after bath of undercoat in the morning, then bucket after bucket of finishing plaster in the afternoon. I then went on to learn the skills of plastering, tiling, artexing, pebble dashing and more. Mick's work was always top class and he taught me so much. I went on to leave Mick as he bought a pub as he fancied a change, still good friends today and when we catch up we talk about the good old days. I started for the bigger companies, like Batchelors and AV Stians at Minskip. These jobs were more demanding as after improving my skills I ran a few sites for these companies and managed materials etc etc. I then went to work for a slightly smaller firm, KK Construction, this was run by a local family ex Army so was strict but I did what was asked of me and when there was no plastering or anything I had under my belt, I would go help the other trades out. This was of great benefit to me as these men were all old school tradesmen. The skills and quality again was all top class, I had a really enjoyable time with this as the mix of skills I was learning was great. For example, one day I could be putting in heating systems or sinks, or full bathrooms and all plumbing skills. The following week I could be working with Bob the Joiner, he was so skilled we put many roofs on together along with other Joinery work.. I also learnt Brickwork and stonework, these lads came from Skipton, John & Pete. They were very strong and hard working, well, I had thought I had a hard time before I met these fellas but these two grafted and we built many extensions together and I learned stone masonary, brick work etc etc. I also used to help the (sparks) Electrician, completing many rewires, however, as never obtaining a full certificate in this I am unable to complete electrics under the new rules just come in but used to really enjoy it. I went on to further my skills and worked for Niddal Windows for a year. I used to make the window from scratch and also when they needed me I fitted them as well. So, after obtaining full skills in many trades I now offer my skills to anyone who needs them. I always have references available for anyone who wishes these are from past customers. I normally find once I have completed a section of a required job or task I am always asked back normally very soon to complete a further task as my work speaks for me and I have a customer base that I have built up over the years. I currently look after many rented accommodations in and around Harrogate for various Customers and businesses. If you are happy with my profile please get in touch and we can see if we can fit you in. Many thanks for reading my profile and I hope you enjoyed it. We look forward to providing you with our services soon. Please ensure when asking trades people for quotes whoever you use make sure they are skilled as we have had to put many jobs right in a previous year, that's all we seemed to do. |
