The first time I heard of this sounded like a wise ass comment from somebody just trying to be silly.  Spyder posted on rec.motorcycles.harley, "Have you ever heard of a chicken shit race?"  Well I said no, and would he please write it up so I could add it to the events page resources. 
     
     Well, I didn't hear back from Spyder.  I finally ran across him in Parker Arizona while my wife and I were in route to an ABATE poker run / meeting of the minds in Bouse.  My wife was on the phone with him trying to get directions for something or another.  I didn't have a clue who he was, but I heard the name Spyder mentioned so I figured what the heck.  I'll ask him.  Kinda surprised him and me that we had crossed paths on-line.

     Anyway the first thing I said to him was, "What the heck is a chicken shit race?"  After a little surprise and where did you hear that stuff he explained it to me.

     I guess it started with bored cowboys at rodeos.  They would take two chickens and put them in a pen.  Then they would take bets on which chicken would shit first.  Then its just a matter of organizing the betting.
