Wild, wild nights we roamed the bylanes,
Kissed with wind and honeydew,
Laid together neath the arbor,
In falcons nest lined twilight blue.
Then in the summer land we found us,
Under Breeds full shining moon,
Honeysuckle, ash and elm,
Oak and leaf and misty dew.
Soft and softer music round us,
Hard and harder passions breath,
Till Sweet Breed did dip and claim us,
Spilling moonlight, bringing rest.
Morning sunlight broke our reverie,
Hard and glaring, cruel and cold,
Jack Frost hunting, frozen feathers,
Shivering in the ice and snow.
Wild, wild nights are gone forever,
Twilight brings but soft refrain,
Sweet, sweet Breed dips down to comfort,
Brings his kiss to me again.
Honeysuckle softly twining,
Memories of his soft embrace,
Oak and elm and rowan find me,
Dreaming of his blessed face.
When some morning, cockerel crowing,
I awake in summers land,
Will the falcons nest remain,
And will he reach to take my hand?
