Dan, Jorge, Chris, and Mike have been best friends since kindergarden. Hailed in their small town as four musketeers, they have played football together; shared their hopes and dreams toether; and partyed together. Now all that is about to end.
They are now out of High School and must go on to different lives. Away from their small town. Dan and Jorge decided to join the military to get out of their small town and leave their foorball days behind. Chris has been given a scholarship to UT Austin to play for the longhorns. Mike is off to Baylor to be a Doctor.
Now here it is August. Football Practice has been in full swing for quite sometime. The summer is over and so is the era of the four musketeers. It is their last weekend before adult hood calls.
During the coarse of the flim we seejust how deep seeded the friendship is between Dan and Jorge. Jorge comes from an abusive environment and must deal with those demons before he can move on. Dan is always there for Jorge, helping him through the troubles. Even taking him in when he runs out of the house after being attacked by his father.
Dan feels the restlessness growning within him. He is no longer part of the high school jock scene, nor is yet settled in the military life. He always looks as if he looking for something, but has not found it yet and does not know what it is. During the 73 hours, life will change for Dan as well.
The hours pass by quickly for the four of them. Dan heads to the football field after the life changing events transpire. Jorge joins him and the two watch the last sunrise through the goalpost. A site they saw as they arrived for practice all their lives. A last glimpse of the adolesence
