Take a number, take a sign
You know what bothers me? Ignorant, stupid people who pretend they know everything. They try to tell you what to think and they make it sound like they know what they are talking about. But they dont. That drives me nuts! I mean, I know, Im ranting along and perhaps I dont know what Im talking about and perhaps you disagree with me, I dont have a problem with that. But I mean, I dont make up evidence to support my view, at least not on purpose that I know of. Sometimes you just want to punch those people in the face. You know what Im talking about. They act like they are so smart and so superior but they cant see outside of their own bubble of selfishness.
Im being too abstract here and Im mixing examples. I suppose there are a few things that anger me, they are somewhat related though. Well, I mean, theres more than just these things that anger me, but today this is what we happen to be talking about.
First of all, there is the evidence-inventor. There are several different reasons stupid people make up evidence. One of which is to make themselves appear smarter than they actually are. Which is annoying whether or not you actually know what the real facts are. Another reason is to support their point of view or opinion on a certain subject. People actually make up things that arent true because in their logic they should be true because it makes their opinion look better. For example, say someone had the opinion that getting drunk is cool. Many people disagree with this opinion. In order to make their opinion sound less like, I think its cool because Im stupid and dont like to be responsible for my actions and Im stupid and dont want to accept that its unhealthy, and Im stupid and I just want to make an ass out of myself because when Im drunk Im under the delusion that Im witty and funny, and Im stupid and I dont know what else to do with my time and Im stupid and I dont know how to have fun without alcohol. Because people might not take that opinion seriously since its obviously self-involved, narrow-minded and immature the evidence-inventor will create false evidence to suggest that alcohol is healthy for you. Now I have heard of studies that say a glass of wine a day is good for your heart and Im not saying that I know all there is to know about anything whatsoever, but when facts are not based on one iota of actual evidence or common sense that is when I get p-oed. Like honestly! If you want to support your opinion fine! Go ahead and find evidence to support it, or be honest about why you hold that opinion. But dont MAKE STUFF UP!!!
Alright, next up is the know-it-all. Previously touched on in the preceding paragraph. (that was slightly redundant.) Anyway, these people are perhaps insecure underneath, in any case they have to make themselves appear better than you. They also make up evidence to make it sound like they know what they are talking about when they dont. Or sometimes people will say stupid things in a tone that suggests that they think they know everything there is to know about something. Have you ever had those kids in class who contradict the teacher on some point with no relevance to the actual material? Or! Theres that kid in class who has something to add to everything that the teacher says. And its rarely very necessary or worthwhile. The people who like to hear themselves talk. Theres also those people who love to explain their dizzying logic to everyone nearby just to show how superior their mind is. Even when no one cares. These people can make even the funnest game a bore. Yes, you think youre so smart, thats great, can we play the game without you explaining your mathematical strategy now please?
These people flow into the category of the self-talkers. Those who love to talk about themselves all the time. They exaggerate their situation to either invoke pity or awe. These people may actually be intelligent, but their egotistical manner makes them difficult to tolerate for extended periods of time. Although, I suppose if they were intelligent they might realize that people dont always want to hear them talk about themselves and how great they are. Now, Im not saying that people dont want to hear other people talk about themselves a bit, but I think you can relate when I say it gets pretty tiresome when someone is always talking about themself and trying to make themself seem so much better than you. Ok, so youre wonderful in every way- I dont caaaaare!
So I guess what I am saying is that I hate selfish, ignorant people who talk. They make up evidence to make them seem smarter or to make their opinions seem better , they try to awe you by demonstrating their gifts at every turn even when it is not necessary for them to rub in your face how much you suck at math compared to them, they exaggerate everything they do to snag your attention and they just basically try to use whatever methods they can to gain self-esteem by a self-righteous attitude. People can be so inconsiderate, do they not realize that there are other people on the planet besides themselves? Oh, of course they do- those are the people who arent quite as good as them. Each human being is a fascinating creature full of millions of thoughts and experiences, they deserve to be treated better than just a device that listens to selfish babble from a self-talk person. And as for the evidence-inventors: what do you think youre doing? You think it makes you look smart? I really hate people who pretend to be smarter than they are. If you dont know what the hell youre talking about- shut up! Theres those who use big words, obscure and abstract phrases and people think that there is some deep meaning, but there isnt. They dont know what they are talking about so they are making the others feel as though it is too complex for them (the others) to understand. Get a life. Or get a clue about what youre talking about.
I used they throughout this entire, uh, composition, even though I mostly should have used he/she but I didnt feel like it and then you probably would have thought I was being snotty about using correct English which would make it seem all hypocritical and stuff. In effect, it wouldnt be, Id just be using the correct word because I learned how to use it, but I am a people pleaser. I have been for a long time. So I didnt want you to think I was being snotty. I mean, I understand that the fact that I am speaking negatively about certain types of ignorant people may make me sound snotty, but I am annoyed, so I dont care. If you identify yourself as one of the examples I used, I still like you, I just cant handle the way you act sometimes. None of the examples will probably be able to identify themselves though. Thats the problem with these kind of people, they are too self-centered to realize that they are self-centered. They think they are too perfect to desire a change. And they most likely do not often consider the opinions of others. Inconsiderate.
Now, I have lumped a wide-spread group together. So not everything I say about everything applies to everything. Ha, thats a great sentence. I dont say that this rant is without flaws, that I myself am perfect or completely humble and if you want to challenge me, go ahead, Id love to hear your views and comments, that might allow me to defend my own more substantially. I also do not pretend that this piece isnt written with a huge bias. Its an editorial. Its my view. I dont like people who are annoying to me. Alright, well, I think that this has gone on for long enough. Cheers.
