Ok. So I have a bit of an issue with some university students. It seems like every year I get in the classes with a whole bunch of... people who aren't serious students, I guess you could say. I mean, we all share our qualms with the Know-It-All who just has to add his/her two cents to every lecture. But we do slightly appreciate that someone has done the readings and volunteers answers in English so that the Prof doesn't have to start "picking on people". Anyway, it's not the Know-It-All who I want to talk about at this time. It is all of the people who sit in the back with their friends and talk through the entire lecture about "Oh my god, I'm so hung over. I so don't want to be here." They always seem to be making noise right when the Prof is saying something that is sure to show up on the exam. And they always always shuffle and pack up all their stuff five minutes before the class ends. It absolutely drives me nuts. Like show some freaking respect for the person with the PhD. If it's such an inconvenience for you to stay until the end of class, don't come at all! Better yet, go work. Don't be a student. Be a janitor. Then you can slack off as much as you want, providing you clean those toilets. And that puke. ?? |
