| So posh spice is by far the best spice girl. I mean, seriously, is there any doubt? She is the prettiest, best dressed and coolest. (Billy's saying- "of course you'd like the snobby one Morgan!") I really do though. Alright, so I must say here that way back in the day. The day being grade 7. I didn't like the spice girls. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I was a spice girl hater but a lot of my friends were. I didn't listen to a lot of music back then, which is nuts because now if I'm not listening to music I'm making my own... I didn't discover the wonder of posh spice until just recently. She really is the coolest one though. And she has the best kind of spice. None of the others compare. Like Emma, I mean, she's got a smile that may rival Vic's but we all know that... well, the cookie jar wasn't too out of reach for this little pudge was it? And sweet and innocent? It was a good attempt, but it would have maybe helped if she wasn't the biggest spice girl. And she doesn't look like the youngest. Is her hair naturally blond? There is something that is just wrong about her hair, I don't know what it is. Mind you, I should be careful with what I say about "baby" she is the only spice girl who can actually do karate. Her mother was a karate instructor and so Em is actually karate trained to a very high level. I don't know if that means black belt or not, but I don't think it matters. Geri ("Ginger Spice" for those of you who don't know the actual names) just looked like a circus performer. It's like... yeah.. whatever, but on some pants. Or at least a skirt. She does have cool hair though. Mel C (Sporty) was just... not that pretty... And supposedly had the best voice of the group, but I thought it was really nasal and I never liked it. And one really gets sick of those track pants. One really does. It's like, everyone else is dressed up with the crazy platforms and here's sporty with runners. Ah well. It's better than baby spice's outfits. Mel B (Scary). So obviously by the time they got to her all the good spices were taken. Who seriously wants to be the scary one? Yeah... and she had ugly pants a lot of the time. That's all I really have to say about her. I really hate the "scary" though, that just sucks. Talk about short end of the stick. I bet they drew straws when the promo people couldn't think of anything better than scary spice. There's something so wrong about that. Anyway, now we get to the lovely Victoria. She's gorgeous, she's untouchable, she gets to wear the nice clothes, she can dance... if only she could sing she would have OWNED. I just have to say, she really is the prettiest spice girl. And at her wedding her and Beckham asked all the guests to come in either black or white. Would that not be the coolest wedding? Everyone in black and white. Classy indeed. Just like Vic. Ok. so some of you maybe harbour hatred toward the spice girls. I am addressing that now. First of all, what did the spice girls ever do to you? They revolutionized the music industry by allowing for a genre where people without actual talent could make it big. What would the world be like without that? We'd have all these talentless bums actually only getting paid for their efforts, with no hope of stardom. Spice made a new frontier so now people with no talent can still dream big. And actually, the girls weren't that bad at singing. I mean, baby was pretty breathy and sporty was pretty nasal, but I'd say scary was alright and the one line I heard posh sing by herself I thought was pretty good although it could have been digitally altered (could they do that back then?). Leaving ginger out cuz I don't feel like talking about her. But the spice girls did allow for girl bands to be popular, up until then, boy bands were the only ones who could really do well. Whether this is a good thing, is debatable, but I'm willing to say hey, people always want new innovations in the music industry, one can hardly deny that the spice girls made their mark in the music world. And if somehow you feel that the spice girls have wronged you in some way, isn't it about time to get over it by now? Peace and girl power. |
