you are so gapple
What Gapple means to me:

"when the Gap meets Apple. the group of computer users still concerned with looking suave behind their macs."

"It refers to the kind of preppy style that comes along with fancy Mac powerbooks or any other highly-refined, high-ticket gadgetry"

"preppy, styling computer nerds"

"gapple means the computer savvy people who aren't nerds"

"in between gappy and nerdy"

"I just have this whole vision of people getting all perdied up, hair, makeup, the whole nine yards, and then coming walking up to the computer and sitting down in front of it.. its like looking good for the camera only its a computer.. thats what gapple means to me."

"first I [thought it sounded] like snapple. but then I started realize that it's really quite brilliant. with the prep and the gap and the mac and all that. I think I'll try to spread it around."

Gapple was a word I invented when I was flipping through the latest copy of  Wired Magazine. I saw an ad with three people sitting very fashion-esque pose, it looked to me like a gap ad, now that I think about it- it would be more like a DKNY ad or Pacsun or something like that, but anyway, they had laptops which turned the would-be clothing ad into an ad for Apple notebooks. I looked at it and spontaneously said, "it's like gapple" Mix 'the Gap' with Apple computers. Sean laughed at me and I thought he was mocking me but really he liked the new word. So that is the birth of "gapple". Go out and use it.
