So I would write a ramble about Christina versus Brittany Spears but well, there's really no point since we know who would kick butt. So I'm just going to ramble a little bit and talk about how wonderful Christina is. First of all, she could sing, and I mean sing, when she was just a young gaffer on the Mickey Mouse Club. Thirteen years old and she is belting out Aretha and Whitney like there is no tomorrow. And she's so cute! Anyway... years later, she snags the Disney contract to sing the Mulan song from some crappy tape recording of her hitting a high E in her bathroom. Now do you think Britney could do that? I think not. Ok... so then Christina had a few really pop-y songs, maybe didn't show off her voice like she could have. They were catchy though... Yeah. And her What A Girl Wants video- so cute. The girl can even dance too. But the main thing with Christina is her voice. She went through an image... thing, and I'm not a big supporter of her image, but the thing is her voice. Her new CD is musically amazing and Christina's pipes are shown off to quite remarkable effect. Each and every song is a masterpiece. The CD has it all. From sincere heartfelt and touching tunes about a less than picture perfect childhood, to inspiring melodies of overcoming obstacles and going for your dreams, to fun danceable ditties and songs of newfound strength of will. It is very personal, and you start to discover Christina's fears, worries and triumphs. Different genres are explored from hip hop to soul to pop. And Christina's vocals... like I said before: outstanding. Way to go girl. Yeah, I'm a fan. I can't get over her VOICE! |
