| I am a 29 year old male who has had sickle cell since birth. I have one sister and one brother which do not have the disease. I live in Auburn, Al., formerly of Milwaukee, WI. Living with this disease for twenty-nine years had been a real problem for me in the past. Now, fortunately, I have learned how to better deal with it. Developing this site has given me great pleasure because I am now able to share the things that I have learned with anyone and everyone who has the disease or simply wants to know more about it. This site is intended to provide support and knowledge.... so come, and let's all learn how we can better deal with the onset of a pain crisis! |

| The Guiding Light |
| Sickle Cell can be a deadly disease if not treated with the respect that it deserves. If we gain knowledge and insight, which is very much needed, and the reason why I named this picture The Guiding Light, we are better prepared to face it. This site is also intended to help accomplish this. |
| I added the bouncing rhino's and the blowing clouds to this page to symbolise two of the contributing factors of the onset of a pain crisis. The rhino's represent anger and the clouds represent cold weather. |
