VIOLATION
(Music by Sean Scott Lyrics by Ondrea N. Lewis 2/23/98)

There was a young girl of nineteen
still sweet and good
Developing well
into womanhood

She stayed clean and pure,
held high expectations
But she was still a young girl
with a few bad inclinations

Alone she was living
tryin' to make it on her own
This was her first time
living away from home

She ran across this brotha
as smooth as could be
He wanted to get with her,
this she could plainly see

A couple of weeks passed
and closer they became
But soon her life would make a change
and she would never be the same

*Ring*

Girl: Hello.
Guy: Hi.
Girl: Hey, what's up?
Guy: Are you busy?
Girl: No, just layin' down.
Guy: Oh really? Can I come over?
Girl: Umm, I don't know, it's late.
Guy: It's only 11:30, I just wanna talk.
Girl: Just talk?
Guy: Yeah, just talk.
Girl: *Sigh* Well, okay.

The innocent chat
was anything but that.

He held her down
and had his way
There was nothing she could do
nothing she could say

When it was over
she laid there and cried
All she wanted to do
was die

What had gone wrong?
How had it come to this?
She was a nice girl
Always full of bliss

The whole world must be crazy
what has happened to this nation?
that a girl like her would become the victim
of such a violation

Days went by
and she tried to forget
About a week or so later,
she began to get sick

"This can't be true" she thought
after being defiled
The result of that night
would be a child.

She wasn't ready,
not for this outcome
One day she'd like to be a wife and mother
but right now she's still too young

This wasn't how it was supposed to be
She had goals, she had dreams
This child would change all those things
rip her world apart at the seams.

The whole world must be crazy
What has happened to our nation?
That a girl like her would be the victim
of such a violation

Months passed and her womb began to grow
The life inside of her was starting to show

She chose not to let it get her down
She always smiled when others were around

Despite how this life, came to be
She'd love it anyway, unconditionally.

The ninth month did finally come
And the doctor handed her, her new baby son

How beautiful he was
Her own flesh and blood
Someone who'd always love her
and someone she'd always love

This world doesn't seem that crazy anymore
Things are okay in our nation
Whoever thought such a beautiful thing could come
from a violation?
