SIMPLY CHOOSE
by Ondrea Lewis ©1999

The will of the heart is one hard to understand
Especially when it comes to a woman who loves a man
If she loves one it’s little easier to plan
But if she loves two that’s when each wants to demand

The full attention of her being which she’s unable to give
They think it is easy with this for her to live
Poison is what they call her like Devoe, Bell, and Biv
So much she loves them both but a lie they think it is

Choose one or another is what they say
That would make things easier each day
Their hearts were not designed for you with to play
But choosing will break one heart to her dismay

Selfish little girl with greed for her own heart
Tries to play games but she is not smart
Those she tries to spare will soon tear apart
The heart within her when they all depart

Alone she will be with all that love she possesses
No lover will she find to run his fingers through her tresses
No one to appreciate her short sexy dresses
No ear to hear what she deeply confesses

So now is the time to do what she should
Often she says she would if she could
But procrastination does no one any good
It’s time for her to remove the protective hood

Which shields her from reality that must take place
She can no longer try to save face
If the one not chosen ends his love without a trace
He didn’t love her in the first place
