Here are some some samples of so called fairychimneys.What made people call them as fairychimneys is their shape and their mystic look.Because people used to believe that fairies used to make them and live inside;the actual thing formed them was the nature but nothing else.
     The erruption of two volcanos Hasan Mt. and Erciyes Mt. has formed an area of soft tufa and this soft rock was shaped by erosion,wind and rain water into strange structures making people think that they were made by fairies.So come and see this beautiful land of fairies.

 
  On the top you can see a pigeon house again from a window of another pigeon house.Please also consider how beautiful they look under the snow.We have a long winter in cappadocia beginning from November ending in the middle of May.During winter it is very cold and snowy but the landscape is so beautiful with the snow on it.

  On the right you can see the general look of the famous G�reme village where you can see the famous G�reme Open Air Museum.G�reme Open Air Museum is full of churches and chapels decorated with colourful frescoes from 10th 11th  to 12th centuries. 

On the left you can see the beautiful Uchisar village famous with its castle.The top of the Uchisar Castle is the highest point of this region.In Cappadocia there are more than 300 underground dwellings called the underground cities.The castle is said to have a connection with some of them,eventough no connection is found yet.
