I probably would not have thought of the airport had it not been for my father's obsession with airplanes. Some of my earliest paternal memories are of my father building and flying remote controlled model airplanes. For me the sound of an airplane in the distance is of some comfort to my whiny little inner child "Daaaaaddddddyyyyy, I don't wanna look at planes" its funny how memories are so often clouded with how we wish we had been as apposed to how we actually were.
Side note: before going onto any potentially dangerous grounds it is always advisable to ask permission and find out where it is best to go or not go for safety sake.
