| NNNow in its seventh year, and staged by the non-profitmaking Woodworks Music and Dance organisation, Woodworks aims to encourage participation and enjoyment of the folk arts, drawing on assistance from the local community. Along with a UK-wide network of musicians, dancers, tutors and enthusiasts, opportunities are provided for people of all ages to come together to learn, listen, network, and enjoy live music. Artists this year include: on Friday 29th April - Nancy Kerr and James Fagan plus Liz Simcock and on Saturday 30th April - Eric Roche plus MPE Band. Apart from the performers, there are a variety of workshops on offer including guitar, percussion, dijeridoo and DJ skills. There are also street performances, a festival market, a Youth stage (hosted by Ben Sommers and Cara Winter), Club tent (hosted by the Whisker Family), a Green Stage, and this year, even more children's activities with lots of activities at different venues around the town. There's also a Mozzy Green Big Issue fundraising concert on Sunday. Concessionary tickets are available for children under 16 and the unwaged. Weekend tickets include admission to workshops, and evening concerts. |
