The Grim Organist Project
In January 2000, Daniel Oberley began the Grim Organist Project.....
Almost a year later, Grimmy became the Living Dead come to life....
And he plays a mean pipe organ too!
I'm scared to close my eyes...
I'm scared to open them....
I'm going to DIE OUT HERE!!
Oh, wait, I'm already dead!
Never mind.
Grimmy is an animatronic.  He has servos that move his head left/right and up/down and one that opens and closes his jaw.  Also his hands move up and down on the keyboard; they are powered by a rotating motor/cam system I built.
This is the organ I found through the newspaper.  It cost $50 And it still works!
I'm using the line-in input to play the organ music from a tape recorder to give the illusion that the Grim Reaper is actually playing the songs.
This is my original drawing of "The Plan" I had dreamed up for the organ.  This was drawn before I ever thought out how to make it.
