Ticket Stand
To the tune of 'khe sahn'

I lost my mind at the station round Merrylands,
I had to get the eight-thirty train to see my dying nan.
But there was all that goddamn trackwork,
From Pendlehiill to the goddamn city,
Do the family at the funeral understand?

That all the train announcements are in Japanese,
How you need a translater to get to platform number three.
How I tryed hard to get my ticket,
Said Parramatta but he didn't get it,
I spoke real slow oh yeah but he couldn't understand.

Yeah he was like so many more from city rail,
Yeah the lights are often on,
But there ain't nobody home.
They have no idea 'bout fast suburban trains.
Ticket machine isn't working, trains are few,and far between.
Many murderous thoughts are lurking where my patience once had
been.
I'll really get the shits,
if they tell me one more time,
to get my ass back behind that yellow line.

The last train outta Westmead's almost gone,
But the station master's gone to have a bong.
That announcement's got me worried,
All trains are delayed and i'm in a hurry.
Yeah the last train outta Westmead's almost gone.
