I became a Boy Scout when I was 14. The reason is because I would like to be more independent. In fact, at that time I have nothing better to do than making models and sleeping. The following year I became an assistance patrol leader (APL) of Tiger. Less than 6 months later, I became a patrol leader (PL) of Tiger, due to lack of members. We have total of five members in our group. The Next school year, when I was a form 3 student, we have about 12 members.

What I learn from Boy Scout is simply some of the basic savor skills and most importantly interpersonal skills and leadership skills. Before I join the Boy Scout I was a shy person (believe it or not) and having bad communication skill.(even today) I like traveling; especially, hiking and camping. I remember I used to have my backpack packed 3 to 4 days before the trip start. The reason is because I want my backpack completely full and look nice, if not plastic bag will do the job.

I've this Lowe since 1992. I brought this pack when it was first introduce to the market. This particular pack has been around for 4 years. The first time used the pack was going to Landtau Island on a three days scout hiking in the summer of 1992. The pack can carry the loads of up to 50Lbs while maintain overall balance and comfort. The capacity is 75 liters plus 20, thanks to the extendible "head unit" for that 20 liters extra volume. The back system is excellent. The shoulder belt/strap is adjustable. The material and the buckles is very tough and 100% waterproof.

Backpacking is very important since it can maintain the load balance and comfort. The key is to place all the heavy items as closest to your back as possible. All the lightweight items should be placed in the front or side. A zipper between the main compartment and the sleeping bag compartment divides the pack. Moreover, the sleep bag compartment can be access through the zipper as well. The outside pocket is very useful; especially for compass, map and rain cloth...etc. This is a durable backpack that can last forever. It is a great deal for its price.

Beside Lowe I also like Karrimor as well. However, I couldn't find their web site. Therefore, I Could not provides you with their web site for reference. I have Jaguar E 54 since 1991. My parents brought me this backpack when I was a form 3 student. It cost about HK$ 890. At that time it is impossible for me to afford it. The shoulder strap is adjustable like the Lowe does. However, Karrimor is using what they called the SA System unlike my Lowe, a coin is needed in order to adjust the high of the entire shoulder strap.

The pricing for Karrimor is much higher than the similar product by Lowe. However, I would say that the Karrimor backpack is well constructed. I love to show off with my Kerrimor than my Lowe. The reason is because it is very colorful, stylish and the contour of the backpack is very smooth. It is the state of the art design.
