The Jamo Center 160, center channel speaker is excellent for listening to music or movie at any volume. The two large 5" polypropylene diaphragm midrange and a 1"dome tweeter ensure a clean and smooth sound. For movie, it reproduced great dialogue and clean dynamic sound. The cost is US $ 195, including shipping and handling. For the price it's not a bad deal, the Center 160 match perfectly with the Classic 8. I was thinking to get the Center 7.2 at the beginning; however, they are designed to match the 7 serious. The only thing I would say about this speaker is that they are not wide enough, only 22.2" and Bi-wire is not available. The main speaker that I have is the Jamo Classic 8 bi-wireable floor standing loudspeaker. The Classic 8 sounds great with my Onix speaker cable. This speaker allows you to use bi-wire cable. The slim profile 3-way speaker with two 61/2"woofers, a 51/4:midrange and a 1"dome tweeter. A careful balanced bass reflex speaker ensure superb realism across the entire frequency spectrum. I had heard that Jamo manufacture solid and nice speakers. Yes, they are. One of my best friends (Dom) recommends me to get the Jamo speakers. As soon as I listened to these speakers I knew he is right. exceptional bass reflex performance . I purchased this pair of speaker for a great price from the local stereo store for $ 550. |

The system sounds very natural on music and movie with the Center 160. They reproduced sweet and detail music and voice that make me happy. Especially, I prefer clear mid-range and even sharp high end, instead of emphasize on the bass only. The only thing I would say about this speakers is that they are 4 ohms. The surround speaker each is powered by the Infinity built-in 150-watt amplifier; Overture 2 delivers sharp high end and produces very clean and deep bass. I brought it from Good Guys Electronic for US $ 800 + tax when they were first introduce to the market. At that time, I have couple of choices to choose from, but I picked the Infinity because of the sharpness and its' look. I prefer bright sound though. The surround speaker matched perfectly with the system. However, this speaker sounds a little bit off balance when I turn in on too loud, especially on the bass. Overall, this speaker is great for home theater. Power subwoofer subject under review, Sunfire sub under testing |

The speaker cable that I use for the front main speakers are the ONIX Pure-Copper, six conductors shielded speaker cable, made in England. Cost about US$ 6 per feet. The speaker cable that I used for the center channel speaker, and the surround speakers are Soniclink Red. Cost about US$ 3 per feet. Banana plug has been used for connecting between the amplifier and all speakers. PCI Silver 4S S-video cable for connecting between the DVD player, the amplifier and TV. Ecosse audio cables for connecting the DVD player (5.1 channel) to the amplifier. Monster Digital Coaxial Cable for connecting between the DVD player and the Amplifier. Audio Qwest 25' oxygen free copper subwoofer cable has been used. Acoustic Research audio cable have been used for connecting the TV & VCR to the amplifier. The total amount for my home theater system is about US $ 2100 |
